Wilczek Makes Individual Cut After Round 2 of NAIA Championship

SILVAS, ILL. – The OUAZ women's golf team put together an excellent performance in the second round of the NAIA National Tournament, but it was not enough to make the cut as a team. One Spirit player will be continuing on until Friday, as Taylor Wilczek made the individual cut on Wednesday.

Wilczek had a tough start on the first two holes of the day, going +3 and having a double-bogey on the par-five second hole. Wilczek recovered nicely and was two-under in the final 16 holes, and jumping within seven shots of the individual lead.

Maddi Shoults also had a great day in the second round, putting up a 75 (+3) to just miss the individual cut. Mikayla Sgrillo improved her score five strokes from her first-round performance to make a push up the individual leaderboard prior to the cut.

Wilczek sits seven shots of the individual leader, and will hope to put together another fantastic round to get even closer. The freshman will tee off at 9:20 a.m. CT/7:20 a.m. AZT on Thursday morning.
