SUN CITY WEST, ARIZ. – After a great first two rounds, the 14th-ranked OUAZ women's golf team is in a great spot to take the 2024 GSAC Championship. The Spirit trail by just one stroke entering the final round at Briarwood, and Taylor Wilczek is the individual leader heading into Wednesday morning.
Wilczek had an amazing first round, shooting two-under thanks to three birdies and just one hole over par. Wilczek had another two birdies on Tuesday, and currently holds a two-shot lead on the individual leaderboard.
Jessie Sporle is currently tied for 12th, going one shot better in her second round than in the opener. Sporle did put in a great birdie on the par-4 ninth hole during the first round on Monday, and reached par on seven of the final nine holes to close out Tuesday.
Mikayla Sgrillo sits tied for 15th, and had two birdies in the first round on Monday. Emily Larson make a large leap up the individual leaderboard with a 77 second round. Maddie Shoults had a great first round to keep the Spirit in the hunt, dropping in two birdies during the opening 18 holes.
The final round of the 2024 GSAC Championships is set for tomorrow morning, with the first Spirit golfer teeing off at 9:33 a.m. Live Results
