SURPRISE, ARIZ. – The fourth-ranked OUAZ men's volleyball team had another big GSAC matchup on Friday, as the Spirit hosted second-ranked The Master's. The two teams battled all night long, but the Mustangs took a four-set victory away in their second consecutive game in Arizona.
OUAZ had a good offensive showing, putting up 53 total kills as a group. The Spirit had at least 12 kills in three sets, and had 16 kills in the second and fourth sets.
Addah Nestor led the match in kills, posting a whopping 19 in four sets. He also was effective defensively, getting seven digs and a solo block.
Emery Outin was similarly effective, as he finished with 17 kills. Outin also had a pair of assists, and pitched in five digs on the defensive side.
Zeo Meyer was once again the distributor, as he led the game with 45 assists. Meyer has had six games with at least 40 assists this season, and the 45 on Friday night was the second most in a contest for the senior.
The Spirit will have the rest of the weekend off before heading to Northern California. OUAZ returns to the court on Thursday, March 21 when they meet UC Merced.
