Marvin Gaye had a song in 1967 titled "
Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and in that song is a line that goes, "(T)here ain't no mountain high enough, Ain't no valley low enough."

Well, after the two games on Saturday some might say that the OUAZ softball team lived that song.

The day started with a 25-1 loss to second-ranked Southern Oregon, and ended with a 3-2 win over Park Gilbert on a walk-off single by
Brooklynne Esquibel in the bottom of the seventh with two outs.

"I thought the energy was there all game," Head Coach
Ernesto Ortiz said about the Park Gilbert win.  "I think when you have "Liv" in the circle it gives our team a lot of confidence that it is going to be a close game.  We just have to manufacture some runs.  Proud of the effort they bounced back after a really tough loss."

The team will be on the road for the next 10 games before opening Golden State Athletic Conference play
on Friday, March 8, with a doubleheader against #19 Hope International.  The first pitch is scheduled for
2:00 p.m. at Willow Canyon High School.
