Surprise, Ariz. – OUAZ Men's Basketball got back in the win column after a back-and-forth contest against Westcliff (2-3) with an 88-80. The victory puts the Spirit at 5-4 on the year. 
The Spirit forced had a solid defensive showing as they held the Warriors to a 43.3% shooting percentage from the field, and a 26.3% shooting percentage from the three-point line, while forcing 14 turnovers which resulted in 22pts. The Spirit's offense rebounded from their tough performance against Nelson Arizona as they shot 54.7% from the field and 39.1% from the three-point line. 
Four Spirit players finished with double-digit points, led by CJ Reed's 28-point performance on an 80% shooting percentage. Hunter Richardson added to the effort with (17pts, 5 rebounds, and 1 steal). OUAZ also got contributions from Jack Galiardi, who had a line of (11pts, 2 steals, 1 block, and 4 rebounds), with Reggie Orr adding (6pts, 2 steals, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists) on the day. 
The Spirit will head on the road to take on Nelson Arizona (4-2) on Monday, December 9th at 7 PM MST. They will then participate in the 2024 Cactus Classic at Chandler-Gilbert CC, where they will play Montana Western (7-2) on Friday, December 13th at 4 PM MST, and Rocky Mountain (5-1) on Saturday, December 14th at 2 PM MST.
