Phoenix, Ariz. – OUAZ Men's Basketball gets their second straight win after a big 81-68 road victory against Nelson Arizona (4-3). The victory puts the Spirit at 6-4 on the year.
The Spirit had a solid defensive showing as they held the Warriors to a 42.6% shooting percentage from the field, and a 19% shooting percentage from the three-point line, while forcing 19 turnovers which resulted in 18pts. The Spirit's had another strong night as they shot 55.6% from the field and 40% from the three-point line.
Three Spirit players finished with double-digit points, led by Hunter Richardson's 25-point performance on an 89% shooting percentage, including shooting 83% from the three-point line. Jack Galiardi added to the winning effort with (18pts, 5 rebounds, two blocks, and 1 steal). OUAZ also got contributions from Zeke Viuhkola, who had a line of (15pts, 1 steal, 5 assists, and 8 rebounds), with Reggie Orr adding (8pts, 2 steals, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists) on the night.
The Spirit participate in the 2024 Cactus Classic at Chandler-Gilbert CC, where they will play Montana Western (7-2) on Friday, December 13th at 4 PM MST, and Rocky Mountain (5-1) on Saturday, December 14th at 2 PM MST.
