Anaheim, Calif. – OUAZ Women's Basketball boosts their winning streak to three games, after a tight 66-59 victory against Bethesda (0-11). The victory puts the Spirit at 9-2 on the year.
The Spirit had a solid day defensively as they held the Lions to a 39.7% shooting percentage from the field, and a 12.5% shooting percentage from the three-point line, while forcing 18 turnovers which resulted in 12pts for OUAZ. The Spirit struggled offensively with a 32.7% shooting percentage from the field, and only a 21.4% shooting percentage from the three-point line. The offensive performance was, however, enough to earn them the victory due to their strong defensive performance.
Two Spirit players finished with double-digit points, led by Angel Addleman who put together a solid day with 12pts, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals on a 50% shooting percentage. Brianna Humphries added to the winning effort with (12pts, 3 rebounds, one block, and two steals). OUAZ also got contributions from Louka Wouters, who had a line of (8pts, two steals, four assists, and six rebounds), with Charli Cook adding (8pts, three steals, two rebounds, and one assist), and Marlee Johnson getting (8pts, five rebounds, one steal, and one block) on the night.
The Spirit will take the rest of the week off before they have their final two games to finish off 2024. First, they will head to Phoenix, Arizona to the Nelson Arizona Warriors on Monday, December 16th, at 5:30 PM MST. They will then head home to take on Doane at Faith Arena on Tuesday, December 17th, at 5:30 PM (MST).
