Surprise, ARIZ. – The OUAZ Men's basketball gets their second straight win after a dominating victory over first-year program Nobel University (0-2), 102-63 in their home opener. The win puts the Spirit at 3-2 on the season.
The Spirit put on a defensive display, forcing the Knights to shoot 34.5% from the field, and only 28.6% from the three-point line, while the Spirit shot 52.6% from the field and 33.3% from three. OUAZ's offense dominated the paint with 48 points and would get major contributions from the bench with 50 points. The Spirit would also take advantage of their strong defensive performance, scoring 30 points off of turnovers.
Four Spirit players finished with double-digit points, led by Zeke Viuhkola (20pts, 4 rebounds, on 58.3% shooting). Darius Kendall added to the winning effort (12pts, 4 assists, on 100% shooting). OUAZ also got key contributions from Shamar Moore, who had 12pts, two steals, and two rebounds on the day.
OUAZ will play another home game against Justice College on Wednesday, November 6th at 6pm to finish the week off. Â
