SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – The OUAZ men's basketball team took a challenging contest on Friday afternoon, taking on NCAA D2 Westminster on the road. The Spirit hung tough for awhile, but hot shooting from the Griffins saw a deficit grow insurmountable in a loss for OUAZ.
Nine different players for the Spirit did record points in another group effort. OUAZ was also able to force 18 turnovers, half of those by way of a steal.
Zeke Viuhkola led the team in points, hitting a pair of three-pointers and posting a perfect percentage from the free throw line. Reggie Orr shot 50% from the field while playing hard on the defensive end with two steals and two blocks.
The Spirit will return home for its next contest, a Tuesday night matchup with Nelson Arizona on Nov. 26. Tipoff from inside Faith Arena is set for 6 p.m.
