OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. – The OUAZ men's basketball embraced the quick turnaround into its second game of the Abe Lemons Classic, taking on Southwest Christian in an early afternoon matchup. After taking a lead in the second half, the Spirit were unable to hang on as the Eagles took away an 81-71 final.
It was another ferocious defensive effort for OUAZ, forcing 26 opponent turnovers. The Spirit also got great contributions from its bench once again, outscoring its opponent in that category by double-digits.
Four Spirit players finished with 10+ points, led by Zeke Viuhkola's 18. Viuhkola also pulled in six rebounds, tied for the team lead in the contest with Reggie Orr. Gelo Gil and Jack Galiardi each finished with five assists.
OUAZ will finish its time at the Abe Lemons Classic with an early game against Missouri Baptist. Tipoff is set for 9 a.m. AZT/11 a.m. CT.
