Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Witkowski, Frerichs Score Twice in Victory

AZUSA, CALIF. – The 23rd-ranked OUAZ women's soccer team played its first game outside of Arizona for the first time in over a month on Thursday, matching up with Life Pacific. Amanda Witkowski scored a pair of goals in the first half, then Karissa Frerichs matched that effort in the second half as the Spirit took away a 4-0 conference win.

OUAZ dominated a majority of the play, finishing with a 20-3 shot advantage, and a 10-2 shots on goal advantage. LJ Hempel made both saves, and has not allowed a goal in her nearly 300 minutes played so far this season.

Witkowski got the scoring started in the 17th minute, then doubled her team's lead less than five minutes before halftime. Witkowski has now set a career-high in goals and points in a season with her showing on Thursday.

Frerichs's goals came with assists, as Mindy Lertzman and Kylie Walker picked up helpers in the doubling of the Spirit's lead. Frerichs has now scored four times over the last six games, and has converted four of her seven shots on goal this season into tallies.

OUAZ will now head into a ranked showdown on Saturday as they match up with No. 21 Hope International. Kickoff from Biola University is set for 3 p.m.
