The Spirit's men's basketball team opened the 2023-24 Golden State Athletic Conference slate with a 66-59 loss to Jessup University in Rocklin, California. 

McKay Bundy continued his torrid shooting (now 57% from the floor on the year) and led the team in scoring with 17 points. He has now recorded more than 10 points in all but one game.

Bryce Fitzgerald was the only other Spirit (10-4, 0-1 GSAC) player to score in double figures (12 points) on a night when the team connected on just 33 percent from the floor and 22 percent from three-point land.
 
The team will take on Menlo College on Saturday.  All-time, the Spirit and Oaks have evenly split their previous eight games.  The teams split last year's season series, with each winning on the road.
