The OUAZ men's soccer team went to Oklahoma City to take on the Stars of Oklahoma City University on Thursday, Sept. 21 and defeated them 6-3 in a non-conference match.

Jamaine Turner and
Peyton Montiel-Villegas all scored a pair of goals in the Spirit (4-2-2) win. Cohen chipped in two assists, while Turner assisted on another.

Oklahoma City (4-3-1) scored in the 12th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Montiel-Villegas scored his second goal of the campaign late in the 14th minute to tie the contest up at one.

Cohen scored his fourth goal of the season, first of the night, in the 22nd minute after a Turner shot was blocked. Montiel-Villegas scored again a minute later to give the Spirit the 3-1 lead.

OCU scored in the 26th minute to get back to 3-2, that is how the first half would end.

Eight minutes into the second half, a yellow card was issued to OCU. On the ensuing free kick, Turner scored to make it 4-2 OUAZ.

OCU once again pulled to within one when they scored in the 67th minute. But that would ba as close as they could get.

In the 80th minute Turner scored his second goal of the night, assisted by Cohen to give the Spirit a 5-3 lead. It was Turner's fifth goal of the season.

Nearing the end of the match in the 88th minute, Cohen scored his fifth goal of the season and was assisted by Turner.

The team will finish their two match Oklahoma road trip on Saturday when they travel to Southwestern Christian University in Bethany. The match will begin at 11:00 a.m. in Arizona.
