Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

OUAZ drops 100 for the first time this season

After suffering a tough overtime loss to Oregon Tech a few days ago, the OUAZ men's basketball team got back on the winning track with a dominating 107-75 decision over Park Gilbert. Consistently one of the highest scoring teams in the Golden State Athletic Conference, it's the first time they have topped the century mark this season.

The Spirit had five players record double-digits in scoring, including Jayce Catchings who led all scorers with 19 points on six of 13 shooting.  McKay Bundy (17 points), Elijah Simmons (14 points), Hunter Richardson (13 points) and Eric Brown (10 points) also reached double-figures. For Simmons, Richardson and Brown those are all career highs.

Park (3-3) raced out to a 13-8 advantage just over five minutes into the game, but thanks to a 14-2 run, OUAZ captured the lead and took a 15-point advantage into halftime. The Spirit built the lead up to 49 points (98-49)  before just playing the clock out for the convincing win.

OUAZ (4-2) travels to SAGU-American Indian College on Wednesday before enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday.  They will be back in action at Faith Arena on Nov. 30 when Justice College opens a three-game homestand.  Get your tickets now on the Hometown Ticket App or by clicking here.
