SPIRIT SPLIT TWO MATCHES

The OUAZ Spirit Women's Volleyball played a rare mid-season doubleheader manging a split on the evening.

In the first match of the day the Spirit (11-9) hosted the Benedictine University Mesa (BenU) Redhawks (16-2) in a contest that went the distance, with BenU winning by a score of 3-2 (Set scores). The Spirit put up an impressive fight, with Madison Wampler leading the way with a career-high 20 kills. Rylie Henige contributed 12 kills to the team's offensive efforts, while Cristal Carrizoza facilitated the team's offense with 48 assists, and Kenzie Kuxhaus added 32 digs. BenU was led by Kylie Bartel who had a match-high 28 kills.

Despite the narrow loss in the first match, the Spirit came back strong in their second matchup as they swept West Coast Baptist (1-17) 3-0 (set scores). The Spirit demonstrated their depth as 10 different players registered at least one kill. Logan Kuehn orchestrated the offense with 15 assists, while Ka'ena Kekeaulua contributed with 19 digs.
