After a quiet second inning, Trojan's sophomore Aleyah Rastetter hit a 2-run homer in the 3rd to advance their lead to four.

The Spirit was able to earn their final run of the game thanks to Breanna Gonzalez who batted for  junior Odalys Garcia-Peret. At the conclusion of game one, the Spirit totalled seven hits from seven different players.

Spirit fifth-year graduate student Alexandra McCutcheon went the distance. In the loss allowing 11 hits, 5 runs, one walk and two strikeouts.

GAME 2: OUAZ 4, Taylor University 3
In the second standoff of the day, the Spirit took an early lead and held off a Taylor rally for their first win of the year (4-3). All four OUAZ runs scored before the third inning.

The third batter up for OUAZ, Mashayla Beltran, drove a 2-RBI double to score the first runs of the game. Continuing her Friday night hot streak, Beltran singled again in the 2nd, driving in Junior Angelina Mercado for the Spirit's final run of the night. Beltran ended the night 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
