OUAZ’s Balanced Scoring Overpowers The Masters

SURPRISE, Ariz. – Behind a balanced scoring attack, the OUAZ men's basketball team posted its ninth win in 10 games with an impressive 91-63 win over The Masters on Saturday afternoon at Faith Arena.

The win snapped the Mustangs four-game win streak and moved OUAZ to 15-5 overall, 7-4 in the GSAC and tied for second in the standings.
Three OUAZ players posted 16 points (Keshawn Bruner, Devin Collins and Josiah De'laCerda) while Alex Villi added 15 and McKay Bundy tallied 10. Collins also led the Spirit with 10 rebounds and was near perfect (11-12) from the charity stripe.

Though a physical contest, OUAZ fought its way to a 10-point lead midway through the first half and never looked back. OUAZ finished the night shooting nearly 46 percent from the floor and 40% beyond the arc. The Masters, led by Jordan Caruso (20 points) and Kaleb Lowery (12 points and 12 rebounds), was held to 35 percent from the field and just 15 percent from three-point range.

OUAZ plays next at Hope International (14-6, 7-4) on Thursday night in a battle between two teams tied for second in the GSAC standings. The game is slated to begin at 8:30 pm MST.
