2022 Women's Volleyball Notes -- Week 4

With two weekends of tournaments now complete, the 24th-ranked OUAZ women's volleyball team is set to open conference play with a pair of road matches this weekend. The defending GSAC champs open their title defense on Friday at Life Pacific before taking on Hope International on Saturday afternoon.

Picked to repeat as champions by the coaches in the preseason, OUAZ has gone 4-4 to start the season after splitting four matches last weekend in Nebraska. The Spirit has yet to play a true road match this season but is 2-2 in all games away from home. They finished 10-1 on the road in 2021.

The Spirit begins the road trip ranked fourth in the GSAC by averaging 11.24 kills per set, while they are fifth with a .154 attack percentage. They have recorded 50-plus kills in a match three times and twice hit above .200. To go with the attack numbers, OUAZ is posting 1.47 service aces per set and twice has notched 11 aces in a match.

Defensively, OUAZ is holding its opponents to .156 hitting and an average of 11.85 kills per set. That is accomplished by posting 16.00 digs and 1.62 blocks per set.

Livia De Pra leads the conference and is 39th in the NAIA with an average of 3.50 kills per set. She has been in double figures in 11 straight matches dating back to last season. De Pra is hitting .212 while adding 11 service aces and 94 digs. She leads the GSAC at 4.0 points per set.

Logan Kuehn has tallied 202 assists and is first in the conference at 6.73 assists per set. She posted a career-high 52 assists against Doane and has two double-doubles.

Jessica Pearce is the GSAC leader with 28 total blocks for an average of 0.82 blocks per set. She has recorded at least one block in every match this season and is tied with De Pra and Kuehn for the team lead with 11 aces.

Kenzie Kuxhaus has a team-best 119 digs and is seventh in the GSAC in total digs and at 3.84 digs per set.
