2022 Women's Soccer Notes -- Week 6

Having not played a countable game since September 10, the OUAZ women's soccer team is set to open GSAC play this weekend with a pair of home games. The Spirit begins by hosting No. 12 Westmont on Thursday before facing The Master's on Saturday.

OUAZ begins conference action with a 6-2 record after winning five of its past six contests. The Spirit has gone 2-1 at Spirit Field and outscored its opposition 8-2 in those games.

The Spirit has scored 22 goals which are 44th-most in the NAIA, and they are 48th in the country by scoring 2.75 goals per game. They had scored a goal in 14 consecutive games before being shut out on September 10. OUAZ attempts 15.63 shots per outing and puts 59.2 percent on goal.

OUAZ opponents are scoring 1.13 goals per game while attempting 9.8 shots. Spirit goalkeepers make 4.75 saves per game and hold a .809 save percentage with two shutouts.

Saipress Jones leads the team and ranks 95th in the NAIA with five goals, and her 12 points place her sixth in the GSAC. She has taken 23 shots with 13 shots on goal.

Cassidi Calzaretta has three goals and three assists for nine points. She is 36th nationally in assists and 81st in points. Calzaretta has a team-best 14 shots on goal and two game-winning goals.

Haley Howard has three goals and two assists to rank third on the team with eight points. She is also third with 12 shots and eight shots on goal.

Haley Chitwood leads the team with four assists, where she ranks 46th in the NAIA. She has also scored one goal to total six points.

Carli Calzaretta has made 11 saves in her three starts for a .846 save percentage. She is 3-0 with a 0.80 goals-against-average and one shutout.

Chloe Gutierrez has 13 saves with a .812 save percentage. She has won all three of her starts with a 1.20 GAA and one shutout.

Akela Patterson leads the team with 14 saves.
