No. 13 Spirit Bounce Back with 3-1 over Redhawks

MESA, Ariz. – Needing to get back on track in the final non-conference game of the season, the 13th-ranked OUAZ men's soccer team claimed a 3-1 win over Benedictine Mesa on Tuesday night at Bell Bank Park.

OUAZ (5-2-1) took the lead in the 20th minute with the fifth goal of the season from Tinashe Simbo. Titouan Desveaux then scored two goals in the 52nd and 54th minutes to open a 3-0 lead for the Spirit.

Benedictine Mesa (2-2-2) scored their goal in the 56th minute.

The Spirit finished with six of their eight shots on goal and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks. They held the Redhawks to six shots, and their goal was their only shot on goal.

Desveaux led the Spirit with four shots. Adam Salama picked up the win in goal.

OUAZ now gets set to open GSAC play when they host Westmont on September 29 at Spirit Field.
