Spirit and Park Play to Draw

MESA, Ariz. – The 10th-ranked OUAZ men's soccer team used a late goal to salvage a 2-2 draw at Park Gilbert on Saturday evening at Bell Bank Park.

Trailing 1-0 at halftime, OUAZ (4-1-1) evened the score in the 52nd minute with a goal from Jamaine Turner. Park Gilbert (2-2-1) went back in front in the 85th minute, only to see Tinashe Simbo find the equalizer just over 90 seconds later.

The Spirit attempted 14 shots with 10 on goal while the Buccaneers out five of their 11 shots on target. OUAZ had a 9-2 edge in corner kicks.

OUAZ will host Arizona Christian in a non-conference game on September 17 at Spirit Field.
