2022 Women's Volleyball Notes -- Week 3

Following a weekend where they hosted the OUAZ Invitational, the 24th-ranked OUAZ women's volleyball team heads to Nebraska to play four times at the GoSarpy.com Labor Day Classic. OUAZ will open the trip with matches against Olivet Nazarene and Doane on Friday. The Spirit then faces No. 14 Montana Tech and Cornerstone on Saturday morning.

OUAZ heads to the event with a 2-2 overall record after going 1-2 at the OUAZ Invitational last weekend. The Spirit has yet to play a match away from home this season. They finished 10-3 in road or neutral site matches in 2021.

The Spirit is averaging 10.94 kills per set through the end of August with a .140 attack percentage. They have recorded 50-plus kills in a match twice while hitting a season-high .240 against Wayland Baptist last Thursday. To go with the attack numbers, OUAZ is posting 1.83 service aces per set and twice has notched 11 aces in a match.

Defensively, OUAZ is holding its opponents to .140 hitting and an average of 11.28 kills per set. That is accomplished by posting 15.50 digs and 1.83 blocks per set.

Livia De Pra leads the Spirit with 56 kills on .193 hitting. She ranks second in the GSAC and 84th in the NAIA, with an average of 3.11 kills per set. De Pra has been in double figures in kills in seven straight matches dating back to last season. She is also tied for the team lead with seven aces.

Trina Suldan has a team-best 88 assists at 4.89 assists per set, while Logan Kuehn is at 4.79 assists per set with a total of 67.

Jessica Pearce leads the GSAC and is 55th nationally at 1.06 blocks per set, while her 19 total blocks are good for second in the conference. Pearce also has seven aces.

Kenzie Kuxhaus and De Pra have 48 digs apiece to tie for the team lead. Kuxhaus leads all OUAZ qualifiers at 3.60 digs per set.
