2022 Women's Soccer Notes -- Week 3

The OUAZ women's soccer team will continue its busy start to the season with another two games this week in Arizona. The Spirit will play Park Gilbert on Tuesday at Bell Bank Park in Mesa before facing Benedictine Mesa on Friday at Eagles Park.

OUAZ starts the week at 4-1 on the season after winning all three games they played last week. They hold a 2-0 record in road games already this season.

Through five games played, OUAZ has scored 17 goals which places them second in the NAIA. They are tied for the lead in the country with 17 assists, and the 80 shot attempts are the most. The Spirit holds a .213 shot percentage and put 55.0 percent of their attempts on goal.

Defensively, OUAZ has allowed seven goals for an average of 1.40 per game. In taking 11.0 shots per game, the opposition puts 47.3 percent on target. The Spirit averages 3.80 saves per game with a .731 save percentage.

Saipress Jones notched her first career hat trick in the win at Embry-Riddle on August 23, and she currently leads the GSAC with four goals scored. She has added one assist for nine points while taking 17 shots and putting eight on goal.

Cassidi Calzaretta has two goals and two assists for six points. Her 14 shots are second on the team, and she has one game-winning goal.

Haley Chitwood leads the team with four assists while adding a goal for six points. Anabella Bara has also scored twice on nine shots.

Carli Calzaretta has picked up a pair of wins and holds a 0.67 goals-against average. She has made four saves with a .800 save percentage and one shutout.

Chloe Gutierrez has eight saves with a .727 save percentage. She has won both of her starts with a 2.00 GAA.
