Softball Game Notes -- Week 13

The OUAZ softball team will close its regular season with a trip to Glendale to face Arizona Christian in a doubleheader on Tuesday. The action will begin at 4 p.m. at the ACU Softball Field on the Firestorm's campus.

OUAZ sits at 31-17 overall entering the season's final day. They are 12-10 in GSAC games to rank tied for third, having already clinched a spot in the GSAC Tournament. The Spirit can finish anywhere from No. 3 to No. 5 in the final seeding once play concludes on Tuesday. OUAZ is 12-6 on the road, and they have won five of their last seven away from home.

The Spirit is hitting .288 while averaging 7.25 hits per game. They are third in the GSAC with a .364 on-base percentage and fourth with a .416 slugging percentage. OUAZ has 13 games with 10-plus hits while scoring in double digits seven times.

Katelyn Chambers leads the Spirit with 41 hits and a .328 batting average. She has stolen 12 bases and delivered 12 sacrifice hits while scoring 25 runs. Chambers is tops on the team with six multi-RBI games for 16 total RBIs, and she has 11 games with multiple hits.

Andraya Rhinehart is batting .318 with a .842 OPS. She has tallied multiple hits in a game nine times while picking up nine doubles with a homer and 16 RBIs. Rhinehart has stolen 14 bases and scored 22 runs.

Laurynn De Anda is the team leader in runs (29), doubles (13), home runs (4), and RBIs (26). Her 19 extra-base hits are tied for sixth-most in the GSAC. De Anda has 11 games with multiple hits and four with multiple RBIs.

Breanna Gonzalez is at .306 with 11 extra-base hits, including two home runs and four triples. Samantha Miller holds a .305 batting average with 36 hits and 10 multi-hit games. Mashayla Beltran is batting .289 with 19 RBIs. Charlene De Anda has driven in 19 runs with 22 hits and six doubles.

OUAZ is fourth in the GSAC with its 2.70 ERA while posting a 1.35 WHIP. They are holding the opposition to a .263 batting average while allowing 7.03 hits per seven innings. The staff is fourth in the GSAC by averaging 5.05 strikeouts per seven innings.

Phoebe Popplewell has a 2.58 ERA, where she ninth seventh in the GSAC. Popplewell is 11-7 overall after going 7-3 in her last 10 decisions. She averages 4.32 strikeouts per seven innings with a .232 opponent average.

Alexandra McCutcheon is 16-9 with a 2.51 ERA. She is third in the conference with 128 strikeouts and at 6.10 strikeouts per seven innings. Cori Turner has gone 4-1 with a 3.70 ERA in 47.1 innings.
