Water Polo Splits Saturday’s Action

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The second day of the Claremont Convergence saw the OUAZ women's water polo team split its two games for the second straight day. OUAZ claimed a 20-6 win over Connecticut College before falling to La Salle 20-12.

OUAZ is now 8-13 on the season, with its next two games to be played in Arizona.

GAME 1: OUAZ 20, Connecticut College 6
After Connecticut College scored the game's first goal, OUAZ scored 10 straight and 14 of the next 15 to put the game out of reach early.

Cierra Crouch, Tori Higginson, Jenna Rasmussen, and Kendall Patrick each scored three goals in the win,

GAME 2: La Salle 20, OUAZ 12
Trailing 4-3 less than five minutes in the game, OUAZ gave up five straight goals to La Salle and never recovered. The Explorers would eventually open a 16-5 advantage before the Spirit made a late push to cut into the final deficit.

Higginson scored four goals in the loss for the Spirit. Diana Leivas, Rasmussen, and Patrick added two goals apiece.

OUAZ is back in the pool on March 13 when they face Marist at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center in Tempe.
