OUAZ Wins Twice on the First Day of Macalester Invitational

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The OUAZ women's water polo team got off to a good start at the Macalester Invitational by picking up a pair of wins on Saturday. The Spirit defeated the host, Macalester, 15-5 in the morning before returning for a 20-4 win over Carthage this afternoon.

Kamille Graham scored four goals to lead OUAZ in the win over Macalester. Tori Higginson added three goals, with Kylee Wesemann and Cierra Crouch scoring twice.

Down 2-1 midway through the first quarter, the Spirit scored the game's next four goals and nine of 10 in opening a 10-3 lead in the third quarter.

The second game of the day saw OUAZ open with a 5-0 run and never let up. With an 11-3 lead at halftime, the Spirit outscored Carthage 9-1 in the second half, including 7-0 in the fourth quarter.

Graham again led the team with five goals, with three goals from Wesemann and Jenna Rasmussen.

OUAZ will play another two games on Sunday, starting at noon (AZ) against Augustana.
