OUAZ and Menlo Play to 1-1 Draw

ATHERTON, Calif. – With a chance to solidify its spot at the top of the GSAC table, the OUAZ men's soccer team settled for a 1-1 draw at Menlo on Saturday afternoon.

Menlo (7-3-5, 3-1-3 GSAC) struck first when Dennis Vanin converted a penalty kick in the 49th minute.

The lead held until the 62nd minute when Jamaine Turner found the equalizer when he bent a shot from 30 yards out into the side netting on the far side of the goal for his ninth goal of the season.

OUAZ (10-4-2, 5-2-1) had the final three shots of the game after pulling even, but none were on goal. The Spirit finished with seven shots overall, with the goal being the team's long attempt on goal.

With one week remaining in the regular season, a lot can still happen with seeding for the GSAC Tournament. OUAZ can put itself in a position to earn a bye into the last four of the tournament with a win at Arizona Christian on Friday night.
