2022 Women's Soccer Notes -- Week 8

The OUAZ women's soccer team will play its final two home games of the season this week. The Spirit begins by hosting San Diego Christian on Thursday, and they will celebrate Senior Day before the game. They will then host Vanguard on Saturday.

OUAZ returns home with an 8-2-1 overall record and unbeaten in three straight. They have gone 2-0-1 in GSAC games to sit tied for second with seven points. The Spirit sit just outside the top 25 in this week's NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll as the first team listed among others receiving votes. OUAZ has gone 3-1-1 at Spirit Field this season.

Entering the weekend, OUAZ leads the GSAC by scoring 2.73 goals per game while ranking second with 30 total goals. They have scored multiple goals in a game eight times. The Spirit leads the GSAC with 25 assists, and they attempt 14.18 shots per game.

OUAZ allows 1.18 goals per game, and they have given up multiple goals in a game just three times. The Spirt keepers average 4.64 saves per game with a .797 save percentage.

Saipress Jones begins the weekend fourth in the GSAC and 65th in the NAIA with eight goals. She also ranks fourth in the conference with 18 points. Jones is five points shy of 100 for her career.

Cassidi Calzaretta has five goals to rank eighth in the conference and is second with four assists. Calzaretta is 19th in the NAIA with three game-winning goals, and she is the OUAZ all-time leader in the category with 12.

Anabella Bara is up to four goals on the season where she ranks 10th in the conference. She has 14 shots with 10 shots on goal.

Haley Howard has three goals and two assists to rank tied for third on the team with eight points.

Haley Chitwood also has four assists to match the team lead with Calzaretta. She has also scored one goal to total six points.

Chloe Gutierrez leads the Spirit with 22 saves, and she is second in the GSAC and 22nd in the NAIA with her .846 save percentage. She is 44th in the NAIA with a 0.86 GAA and 35th with five wins.
