OUAZ FOOTBALL GAME 5 NOTES
• The 22nd-ranked OUAZ football team closes out its season on Saturday when they face perennial Sooner Athletic Conference favorite Langston in the Spirit's second road game of this spring campaign.

• The game will be played at W.E. Anderson Stadium in Langston, Oklahoma, with kickoff scheduled for noon (CST) / 10 a.m. (MST)

• Tickets for the game are available at ticketstorm.com. If you plan on attending please be advised that a mask that properly covers your nose and mouth must be worn at all times while in the stadium and all fans practice social distancing while in the stands and the stadium plaza areas.

SPIRIT TIDBITS
• OUAZ enters the season finale with a 3-1 record both overall and in Sooner Athletic Conference games. They are coming off a 37-7 win over SAGU (Texas) at Spirit Field last Saturday.

• The Spirit has an 8-3 all-time record in road games and is 8-1 in the team's last nine games on the road.

• Riding a three-game winning streak, OUAZ is now 10-3 all-time when playing as a ranked team.

NATIONAL POLL
• OUAZ moved up another spot to No. 22 in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll that was released on Monday. 

• The Spirit has now been ranked in 15 consecutive polls dating back to the first regular season poll of the 2019 season. That is the 15th-longest active streak of consecutive polls in the NAIA. During that time, OUAZ has been ranked as high as No. 12 on October 28, 2019.

OFFENSIVE NOTES
• With three straight games scoring at least 34 points, the Spirit moved to 15th in the NAIA by scoring 35.3 points per game. OUAZ has scored at least 30 points in 22 of the 26 games in the program's history.

• OUAZ is now third in the NAIA with an average of 495.8 yards per game. The 567 yards of offense against Wayland Baptist was the second time this season and 13th time in program history the team recorded at least 500 yards of offense.

• The Spirit is second in the nation in passing yards per game with an average of 339.89. The offense has thrown for over 300 yards in every game this season, with a season-high 383 against Wayland on March 27.

• OUAZ is also rushing for 156.0 yards per game to rank 23rd in the NAIA. The Spirit rushed for over 175 yards on two occasions this season.

• OUAZ set school records with 107 plays and 32 first downs at OPSU on March 13. The team is averaging 22.3 first downs per game which ranks 19th in the nation. The Spirit is converting 33.3 percent on third down.

DEFENSIVE NOTES
• After holding SAGU to only seven points, the Spirit moved up to 40th in the nation in scoring defense with an average of 23.8 points allowed per game.

• OUAZ opponents are averaging 376.5 yards of total offense per game. Two of the four opponents – Arizona Christian (527) and Wayland Baptist (486) – totaled over 450 yards of offense against the Spirit.

• The Spirit is allowing 210.8 passing yards per game after holding SAGU to just 116 passing yards last weekend.

• While they have given up some passing yards, the OUAZ defense is 12th in the country by holding opponents to a 97.8 passer efficiency rating.

• On the ground, OUAZ opponents are running for 165.8 yards per game with all three opponents gaining at least 100 yards rushing.

• OUAZ has still been able to get to the quarterback where they have tallied 13 sacks and rank 12th in the NAIA by getting 3.3 sacks per game. They have at least three sacks in every game this season.

SCOUTING LANGSTON
• Langston enters its final game of the season with a 2-2 overall record and winners of two straight after starting 0-2.

• The Lions are 1-1 at home this season after defeating Wayland Baptist 28-17 at W.E. Anderson Stadium last Saturday.

• Langston is scoring 26.3 points per game while giving up 21.3 points per game. They are 22nd in the country by holding their opponents to 290.3 yards per game.

• Treyvon Billington ranks in the NAIA top 50 in receptions per game (5.7) and receiving yards per game (84.7).

SPIRIT AND LIONS HISTORY
• OUAZ and Langston have split the two previous meetings with each team winning on their home field. The Lions claimed a 63-56 win the last time OUAZ traveled to Langston during the 2018 season.

• The Spirit held Langston to just seven points during last season's game at Spirit Field.

SERIES NOTES
• Saturday's game will mark the third straight meeting one of the two teams is nationally ranked.

• The 63 points scored by Langston in the 2018 game are the second-most ever allowed by the Spirit defense.

OUAZ HISTORY
• This will be the first time in program history that OUAZ enters a game with a 3-1 record.

• OUAZ is 1-1 all-time in the team's fifth game of the season. This marks the third straight year they will play the season's fifth game on the road.
