Spirit Rebound With Convincing Victory at Hope

The OUAZ men's tennis team bounced back from its first dual loss of the season to post a 7-0 victory over Hope International on Friday. It marks the second time this season the Spirit took all seven points in a dual from the Royals, posting a matching result back in Surprise on February 20.

Michael Loyd and Austin Todd were entrenched in a battle in the first doubles match, but eventually took control and won 6-4. Andres Reyes and Greg Rudnicki won their doubles match 6-0 to clinch the point for OUAZ, and the third doubles contest was not played as HIU did not have enough players.

The Spirit took all of the singles points in two sets, and cruised to those victories as well. There was only one set in which a Royal won more than two points, with Rudnicki and Loyd taking both sets in their matches 6-0.

The Spirit have one more scheduled dual prior to the conference tournament, a home date with rival Arizona Christian on March 24. The team's dual that was set for this past Thursday against San Diego Christian was canceled, and there is no make-up date set at the moment.
