Spirit Stay Perfect in Conference Play with Sweep of Firestorm

SURPRISE, Ariz. – Playing its final home match of the season, the No. 12 OUAZ men's volleyball team earned its first sweep of the conference season with a 3-0 win over Arizona Christian on Wednesday night at Faith Arena.

With the 25-18, 25-23, 25-20 victory, OUAZ (11-3, 7-0 GSAC) completed a perfect 4-0 mark in home matches and sent its two seniors out with a seventh straight home win dating back to last season.

The Spirit was efficient on the attack for much of the night and they finished with 41 kills on .305 hitting. It was just the fifth time this season they had been above .300 hitting. OUAZ also did a nice job of limiting Arizona Christian (1-6, 1-6) to .160 hitting on 29 kills.

Playing in his final home match for OUAZ, Andrew de'Leon finished with 37 assists – a season-high for a three-set match – and two digs. The program's all-time leader in assists surpassed 1,700 for his career.

Jordan Moses helped the assist total with 18 kills on a .500 hitting night. It was the 10th double-digit kill effort of the season for Moses and hit seventh straight while notching his season-best attack percentage.

Emery Outin added nine kills and seven digs in the win. Connery Duyck had six kills. Outin and Colin Donisthorpe led the way with three blocks apiece.

ACU got 14 kills from Chris Beck.

OUAZ closes out the regular season on Friday night in Santa Clarita, California when they face The Master's at 6 p.m.
