Spirit Swept to End Season

The OUAZ women's basketball team ended its season Saturday with a loss to Arizona Christian. The 98-61 loss marks the first time in program history that the Spirit ended the season without a conference win.

The Spirit made only two field goals and scored just six points in the game's opening quarter, falling behind 27-6 after ten minutes. OUAZ finished the day shooting 27.7% from the field.

Bryn O'Rourke finished the season strong, scoring 19 points, with five of her makes coming from behind the arc. Landyn Lovelady had 11 points, and Jada Golding added 10.

The Spirit put together another team effort on the glass. All but one player got at least one rebound for OUAZ, and eight players had at least three rebounds.

Des Gonzalez had her second consecutive double-double against the Spirit, scoring 30 points and nabbing 13 rebounds. The loss the fourth-largest margin of defeat in OUAZ history.
