Women’s Volleyball to Host Embry-Riddle in NAIA National Championship Opening Round

The historic season for the OUAZ women's volleyball team will continue on Saturday. The Spirit was selected to host an Opening Round match in the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship. OUAZ will welcome Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) to Faith Arena on Saturday at 1 p.m., with the winner advancing to Sioux City, Iowa, for the final site.

The Spirit will be making their first appearance in the National Championship and qualified by winning the Golden State Athletic Conference title. They are 25-2 overall and finished 17-1 in conference matches. OUAZ also posted a 15-1 home record and will enter having won 13 consecutive matches overall and nine straight at Faith Arena.

Embry-Riddle will be making its fourth appearance in the annual tournament and first since 2019. The Eagles qualified by winning the Cal Pac Conference Tournament and will bring a 27-8 record into Saturday's match.

OUAZ is 2-5 all-time against the Eagles, with both wins coming this season. In August, the Spirit defeated ERAU in five sets at Faith Arena and then swept them earlier this month in Prescott.

Tickets will be required for everyone attending the match and are available now at OUAZSpirit.com/tickets. Per NAIA National Championship and OUAZ policies, masks will be required by all spectators with no exceptions.

The match will also be broadcast live on the OUAZ Digital Network on your computer or mobile device. It will also be available on Amazon Fire, Android TV, Apple TV, Roku devices by downloading the GSAC Sports Network app.
