OUAZ Heads to Molten Invitational

Coming off a run to the title match of the NCCAA National Invitational, the 11th-ranked OUAZ men's volleyball team will travel to Des Moines, Iowa to play four matches at the Molten Invitational hosted by Grand View University this weekend.

OUAZ will begin the trip by facing No. 1 Grand View on Thursday at 6 p.m. The Spirit will then play No. 8 Jamestown on Friday at 10:30 a.m. and Saint Ambrose at 3:30 p.m. The trip concludes on Saturday with a 9 a.m. match against Dordt.

OUAZ heads to Iowa with a 2-1 overall record with all three matches being played on a neutral court. They are 13th in the NAIA with an average of 11.23 kills per set while hitting .263 to rank eighth in the nation. Their 1.46 service aces per set is good for 14th nationally.

Defensively, the Spirit is averaging 2.31 blocks per set which has them seventh in the NAIA and they get 10.38 digs per set to hold the 11th spot in the national rankings.

Jordan Moses was named to the NCCAA All-Tournament Team after averaging a team-best 3.31 kills per set after racking up 43 total kills. He twice had double-digit kills at the event, including 20 in a five-set win over Erskine.

Andrew de'Leon split time between setter and libero and finished with 57 assists and a team-high 35 digs. He currently ranks 18th in the NAIA by averaging 2.69 digs per set.

In the program's history, OUAZ has never faced any of the four teams on the weekend schedule.
