SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The OUAZ men's tennis team couldn't complete a season sweep of No. 25 Westmont as they fell to the Warriors 6-3 on Saturday afternoon in Golden State Athletic Conference play.
OUAZ (8-6, 5-4 GSAC) dug themselves a hole by falling in all three doubles matches. Westmont (5-8, 4-5) won the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches by 8-6 scores.
The Spirit would secure three singles wins, starting with
Andres Reyes (6-3, 6-2) in the No. 3 match. The Warriors would clinch the win with three matches still in play.
After the dual was decided, the Spirit added wins from
Eduardo Couto (6-1, 3-6, 6-4) and
Austin Todd (4-6, 6-2, 6-4).
OUAZ returns home for a non-conference match on Monday against Delaware at 1 p.m. at the Surprise Tennis Complex.
