SAN DIEGO – The OUAZ men's tennis team won a road dual in Golden State Athletic Conference action for the first time in program history on Saturday with a 6-3 win at San Diego Christian.
With the win, OUAZ (7-5, 4-3 GSAC) completes a season sweep of the Hawks.
The Spirit led the dual 2-1 after doubles play after
Andres Reyes and
Noel Maurin won the No. 2 match 8-3. They scored the second point by default in the No. 3 match.
After the teams split the first two points if singles action, OUAZ got wins from Reyes in the No. 3 match and
Dong Hyun Kim in the No. 5 match to clinch the victory.
Eduardo Couto added the final point by winning his No. 2 singles match 6-1, 7-5.
OUAZ will be back in California next week for two more GSAC duals. They first is at Marymount California on Friday at 3 p.m.
