ATHERTON, Calif. – The OUAZ men's basketball team lost at Menlo 96-71 on Saturday afternoon in the team's final road game of the season.
 
OUAZ (4-23, 1-16 GSAC) hung around for much of the first half before Menlo (13-13-, 9-8) went on a 12-2 run late in the period to help them take a 43-31 lead into intermission. The Oaks would push the advantage 23 midway through the second half where they closed out the victory.
 
Brian King Jr. led the Spirit with 24 points on a 10 of 25 shooting night. He also grabbed six rebounds and had two assists.
 
The Spirit shot 41.1 percent as a team with 48 points in the paint. They went 5 of 20 from beyond the arc with just seven assists and 12 turnovers.
 
Dimetres Moore added 14 points and seven rebounds with Tanner Riley scoring 12 points.
 
Menlo shot 54.4 percent and had a 44-37 edge in rebounds. Henry Cornelious scored 18 points to lead the Oaks.
 
OUAZ will bring their season to a close on Thursday when they host crosstown rival Arizona Christian at Willow Canyon High School at 7 p.m.
