THIS WEEK FOR OUAZ
>>> The Ottawa University Arizona women's soccer will play at home for the first time this season as the Spirit host a pair of games at Spirit Field on Thursday on Friday.
>>> In the OUAZ home opener on Thursday, the University of the Southwest comes to Surprise for the first of nine home games for the Spirit this season.
>>> Antelope Valley will come to the turf of Spirit Field on Saturday to close out the home week for the Spirit.
>>> Both games this week will begin at 5:30 p.m. and they will be followed by a men's game at 8 p.m. between the same two schools. The bleachers will not be open for Thursday's action – and possibly Friday – so fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs for sitting on the east side of Spirit Field.
>>> Live video of both games will be available on the OUAZ Game Central portal and the NAIA Network for $7.95. The NAIA Network is available on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Android TV devices. Live stats will also be available through Game Central at
portal.stretchinternet.com/ottawaaz.
SERIES NOTES
>>> OUAZ and Southwest will meet for the first time on Thursday.
>>> Antelope Valley will come to town holding a 1-0 lead in the all-time series with OUAZ after a 3-1 win last season in California. The Pioneers had to forfeit that game after the season, per the NAIA.
THE 2018 SPIRIT
>>> OUAZ enters the home week after splitting two games in Washington last weekend. After falling to Corban 3-2 in a neutral site game, the Spirit came back to earn a 2-0 shutout of Evergreen State.
>>> OUAZ is currently averaging 2.00 goals per game, and they attempt 18.50 shots per game. The squad gets 59.5 percent of those attempts on goal while adding 1.50 assists per game.
>>> The Spirit keepers combined for a 1.50 goals-against-average and .625 save percentage during the first weekend of competition.
>>>
Sydnee Busby leads the team with three goals and six points through two games. She has also taken a team-leading 12 shots after she set a school record with 10 shots in the win over Evergreen.
>>>
Maddie Myers added a pair of assists last weekend to lead the team in that category.
FULL SLATE AT SPIRIT FIELD
>>> OUAZ will look to establish a home field advantage as they will play nine games at Spirit Field this season after just one appearance on the home turf last year.
>>> The home slate of games includes four of the team's eight GSAC contests. All four of the home conference games will be played in October during a three-week stretch.
SPIRIT NOTES
>>> In the win at Evergreen, OUAZ moved to 10-0-1 all-time when they hold the lead through the 75th minute. They also improved to 8-0-2 when leading at halftime.
>>> The loss against Corban marked the first time in program history that OUAZ had lost a game in which they recorded fewer saves than the opposition. Last season, the Spirit went 6-0-0 in that situation.
>>> With two goals against Evergreen, Busby became the ninth player on this year's roster to tally a multi-goal game in her career. The team is a perfect 13-0 when a current player scores multiple goals in a game.
LOOKING AHEAD
>>> After Friday, OUAZ will have nine days off before playing at Marymount California on September 3 in Torrance, Calif.
>>> The Spirit will return home to host Providence Christian on September 6.
