SURPRISE, Ariz. - The Ottawa University Arizona men's tennis team fell on Monday afternoon to NCAA Division I member; University of Northern Colorado, by a final of 6-1 at the Surprise Tennis Complex.

With the loss Monday, the Spirit fall to 1-7 overall on the year. With the victory, the University of Northern Colorado improves to 8-9 overall.
Monday's match was played by NCAA rules, with the winner of at least two of the doubles matches', took the single point. Then each of the six singles matches were also worth a point a piece.Â
Doubles play got the action underway between the Spirit and the Bears. The #1 doubles team for the Spirit of
Kim Donghyun and
Noel Maurin won their match by a final of 7-5. OUAZ fell in #2 and #3 doubles by finals of 6-0 and 6-2; giving the doubles point to the Bears.
In singles play, the University of Northern Colorado won #1, #2, #3, #5, and #6 singles to claim the victory over the Spirit.
Eric De Romas won #4 singles for the Spirit, defeating his opponent by finals of 2-6, 6-2, and 1-0 (10-8).
The Spirit men's tennis team returns to the court on Wednesday April 4th, when the Spirit hosts Paradise Valley Community College in an exhibition match, starting at 2pm at the Surprise Tennis Complex.
