LA MIRADA, Calif. - The Ottawa University Arizona men's tennis team fell on Friday evening to Biola University by a final of 7-2 at the Biola Tennis Center in La Mirada, California.
With the loss, the Spirit fall to 2-8 overall. With the victory Friday, Biola improves to 6-13 overall.
Doubles play got things started on Friday, as the Eagles from Biola claimed all three points. Biola won #3 doubles first by a final of 8-4, then claimed a 8-6 victory at #2 doubles, before finishing off the Spirit in #1 singles by a final of 8-4.
OUAZ got on the board in singles play. After dropping the first three singles matches,
Noel Maurin led OUAZ to a win at #2 singles, by finals of 6-4 and 6-3.
Nathan Nair lost a close match in #6 singles in a tiebreaker, by finals of 6-1, 4-6, and 8-10.
Eric De Romas finished off the day with a win for the Spirit at #4 singles, by finals of 6-4 and 6-4.
The Spirit close out their California trip on Saturday morning, with a 10am match against Hope International University in Fullerton.
