FULLERTON, Calif. - The Ottawa University Arizona baseball team fell on Wednesday afternoon to 8th ranked Hope International University by a final of 4-1 in Fullerton, California.
With the loss, the Spirit fall to 1-6 overall on the season. With the victory, the 8
th ranked Royals improve to 6-5 on the year.

OUAZ outhit Hope International University on Wednesday 7-3. But the Spirit were plagued by errors and run production and were forced to play from behind early. The Royals struck first for a pair of runs in the third inning on a sac fly and a single. Hope International added another run in the fourth inning on a solo homerun to give the Royals the early 3-0 lead.

Adrian Salazar got the Spirit on the board in the fifth inning, when he drove in
Race Traynor on a double down the right field line to make it a 3-1 score. Salazar was the lone member of the Spirit to record multiple hits; finishing 2-for-3 at the plate. Hope International responded with another run in the bottom of the sixth inning on a wild pitch to seal the 4-1 victory.

Dylan Chelini took the loss for OUAZ, lasting four innings while allowing three runs; two earned on three hits with four strikeouts and a walk.

The Spirit return home to Surprise after opening the season on the road for seven straight games. OUAZ welcomes The College of Idaho to town this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for four games. Game one is Friday night at 6pm inside of Surprise Stadium. Admission and parking to all games are free.
