SURPRISE, Ariz. - The Ottawa University Arizona women's tennis team fell 7-0 on Sunday afternoon to NCAA Division II Sonoma State University at the Surprise Tennis Complex.
With the loss Sunday, the Spirit fall to 1-2 on the year.
Sunday's contest was played under NCAA rules, where the doubles point is awarded to the team that wins at least two out of the three doubles matches.Â
Sonoma State University came out strong against the Spirit, claiming all three doubles matches by finals of 6-0.
The Sea Wolves then won all six singles matches. The closest match of the afternoon was #2 singles, where
Eliza Wood fell 6-3 and 6-2.
OUAZ returns to the court Monday afternoon for an exhibition match at Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona.
