PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Ottawa University Arizona men's tennis team fell on Sunday afternoon to the 10th ranked Arizona Christian University Firestorm by a final of 8-1 at the Phoenix Tennis Center.
With the loss Sunday, the Spirit fall to 0-3 on the year. With the victory, the 10th ranked Firestorm improve to 4-2 overall on the year.
The day began with doubles, as ACU took all three points. The Firestorm won 8-3, 8-2, and 8-4.
In singles play on Saturday, the Spirit kept it close in a few matches with the ranked Firestorm.
Austin Todd won his match over Scott Wheeler 6-4 and 6-3. The other five matches went in favor of the Firestorm, but
Leonardo Couto kept it close with Enzo Douillac at the #1 singles spot; falling 6-4 and 6-4.
The Spirit return to the court next Sunday February 25th, when they welcome NCAA Division II member, Sonoma State University to Surprise. Next Sunday's match is scheduled to begin at 8:30am in Phoenix at the Phoenix Tennis Center.
