PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Ottawa University Arizona men's tennis team fell twice on Saturday afternoon, once to Hope International University by a score of 6-3. The Spirit also dropped their match against Westmont College 5-4.
With the losses on Saturday, the Spirit open the season with a record of 0-2.
The first match of the day saw the Spirit match up with the Hope International University Royals. OUAZÂ claimed the #2 doubles match and also won the #4 and #6 singles matches.
In the second match of the day, the Spirit squared off against Westmont College. The match came down to the final match, which Westmont won in straight sets.
Overall the Spirit won two of three in doubles play, and claimed wins at #1 and #4 singles.
The Spirit conclude the long weekend of play on Sunday morning at 11am, when they travel across town to play Arizona Christian University at 11am at the Phoenix Tennis Center.
