SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The OUAZ women's volleyball team had few answers for 11th-ranked The Master's University as they fell in three sets on Saturday afternoon in a Golden State Athletic Conference match.
OUAZ (9-9, 4-7 GSAC) finished their weekend road trip with a pair of losses after falling 25-15, 25-18, 25-18.
The Master's (21-3, 10-0) took advantage of a 38-22 edge in kills while hitting .261 against the .012 of the Spirit. The home side also recorded 11 service aces to three from OUAZ and had more blocks and more digs.
Gianna Kioa led the Spirit with eight kills while adding four digs.
Jorie Mayfield posted seven kills and seven digs.
Seleni Bartley gave OUAZ 10 digs and
Rachel Kater finished with 16 assists.
Kayla Sims led the Mustangs with 11 kills and .421 hitting.
The Spirit will play at SAGU American Indian College on Monday at 7 p.m. and then visit Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
