SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The OUAZ men's soccer team won a school record fifth straight game on Monday as they took down the University of Saint Katherine 6-1 in the team's final non-conference game of the season.
The win is the second in less than 10 days for OUAZ (9-1) over Saint Katherine (0-12) as they complete a season sweep of the Firebirds.
Ricardo Navarro led the way on Monday with the team's second hat trick of the season. Navarro scored in the 32nd, 62nd, and 88th minutes to bring his season total to seven goals scored.
The Spirit would also get goals from Serigne Amar Ndo,
Carlos Lopez, and
Bryan Hernandez.
Kyle McDowell had a pair of assists.
OUAZ took 25 shots in the game with nine of them on goal. They allowed USK to take eight shots with three on frame. Lopez and Navarro had five shots apiece to lead the Spirit.
Andrew Tamburra earned the win on goal with two saves.
The Spirit will now turn their full attention to the seven Golden State Athletic Conference games remaining on the schedule. That run begins on Saturday with a trip across town to face Arizona Christian at 1:30 p.m.
