Carson returns to OUAZ to take over as the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine, where he oversees the care provided to all 29 intercollegiate sports, as well as the day to day operations of the athletic training room.
Prior to returning to OUAZ, Carson worked for Shasta Orthopaedics in Redding, CA where he was contracted out to work with Simpson University, an NAIA institution, and their athletic programs. He worked primarily with Simpson’s football team but provided care for all 21 sports that Simpson offers.
Before Shasta Orthopaedics, Carson worked for Division II Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, WA as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. He worked primarily with Women’s Volleyball, Women’s Basketball, and Baseball. He was also made the Interim Head Athletic Trainer for 3 months, in which he worked with all 14 sports, and oversaw all of the duties related to the Athletic Training Room daily operations.
Carson began his Athletic Training career in 2019 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at OUAZ, where he was assigned to work with Women’s Volleyball and Baseball, and helped with the majority of the other sports at OUAZ. During his 3.5 years at OUAZ, he worked with Women’s Volleyball when they played in the 2021 NAIA National Tournament, Men’s Basketball during the 2022 NAIA Opening Round in Caldwell, ID, and assisted the Football team during the 2019 NAIA Opening Round game in Caldwell, ID.
Carson’s academic career includes earning his Master of Science in Athletic Training from Idaho State University in 2019, and his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Jamestown in 2017.
Carson played 4 years of college baseball, first at Shasta College in Redding, CA before transferring to the University of Jamestown to finish his playing career.
Carson is originally from Redding, CA, and currently resides in Surprise, AZ with his Fiancé Britney.
