Henige was the first ever to sign with the Oklahoma City Calvary and started as a rookie.

College
MidAmerica Nazarene

Henige's collegiate career at MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) was nothing short of spectacular. He etched his name into the annals of MNU history as the university's first Basketball All-American. Known as one of the most talented players in MNU's storied history, Henige's contributions on the court were nothing short of legendary. In 1990, he was named an NAIA All-American, ranking among the top scoring and rebounding leaders in the country with impressive averages of 24.5 points per game and 12.5 rebounds per game. Henige's excellence was further recognized as he was named the Heart of America Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and earned All-Conference 1st Team honors. His remarkable performance didn't stop there, as he was crowned District Player of the Year and District Newcomer of the Year, solidifying his status as a basketball prodigy.

Grand Canyon University
Henige's talents continued to shine as he transitioned to Grand Canyon University (GCU). His achievements at GCU were so remarkable that he was inducted into the GCU Hall of Fame as a team member in 1989. This honor cemented his legacy at the university and recognized his immense contribution to the basketball program.

High School:
Before setting foot on the courts of MNU and GCU, Bob Henige's basketball career began with a bang. Ranked as the #78 Greatest Pro player to ever grace high school basketball in the state of Arizona by AinsworthSports.com, he was already making waves in the world of sports. His extraordinary talent and dedication were evident from an early age, and his high school achievements laid the foundation for a storied career ahead.

Personal


Henige earned his degree at MidAmerican Nazarene in physical education.  He is married to Jana, a volleyball coach, live in Glendale. Has six children: Kennedie (a three-time All-State HS Volleyball player), Bobby (an NAIA National record holder), Brittnie and Rylie (Currently on the OUAZ women's volleyball team), Bradley (led the nation in double-doubles for High School basketball in 2022-23) and Tommy (a member of the 14U National Championhip volleyball squad).
