Timothy McHale joins the OUAZ Beach Volleyball coaching staff for their 2019 season. While coaching the Spirit, McHale also coaches the Beach Volleyball program at Xavier College Preparatory School where he has won six state titles since he began the program in 2012. His success helped him earn the 2 Region Coach of Year award. He also heads a beach volleyball team for Fortitude Club Volleyball, who made five appearances at the AAU West Coast J.O. Championship Qualifiers in 2018.
Before coaching beach volleyball McHale coached the indoor volleyball team, amassing 400+ wins as the Head Coach and earning Coach of the Year for the ACA in 2002, 2005, and 2008. He has helped over 20 athletes get to the collegiate level and procure scholarships through his work as a club volleyball coach for Arizona Juniors and assisted the Phoenix College women's volleyball team to their first top 10 ranking in program history in his time there.
McHale was born in Quantico, VA into a military family, but raised here in AZ. He is currently a middle school teacher for the Peoria School District where he teaches Language Arts and History. He is married to his wife, Sara and they have four children: Annika (19), Kellen (14), Delaney (10), and Keegan (8).
