OUAZ Athletics

Bryan Carvalho enters his first year as the beach volleyball assistant coach at OUAZ in 2018. Bryan comes to Surprise after previously serving in a simlar capacity at Lee University in Tennessee as the assistant coach for the women's indoor volleyball team.
 
Bryan joined Lee University with extensive experience in the volleyball coaching world, having served two seasons as the assistant coach at Azusa Pacific. His primary duties included recruiting and training with the Cougars.
 
In 2013 he joined the Cal State Bakersfield program and helped lead the Roadrunners to within one victory of the NCAA Division I National Tournament with a berth in the Western Athletic Conference finals. Prior to working at Cal State Bakersfield he served as the head coach at Bethel Baptist High School and taught history, earth science and physical education.
 
Carvalho resides in Surprise with his wife Haleigh, who serves as the head coach for the beach volleyball program. The couple has a beautiful young daughter, Kaia and newborn Owen.
